Brandon Phillips Is Swinging A Bat Rehab Assignment Soon

http://donatelifeohio.org/

Bryan Price reported before the game that Brandon Phillips has started to swing a bat.  That is the last hurdle for the second baseman, who has missed 21 games with a torn ligament in his left thumb.

"He swung the bat yesterday in the cage and that seemed to go alright," Price said.  "We'll see how he feels today to see if he can keep going or if he needs to back off."

Phillips has been taking ground balls for a week.

Price said earlier this week that Phillips has been working out and is in shape but not playing shape.  Phillips will need a rehab assignment
